With 10 years of experience managing large scale projects, Caroline Tigoi joined The CHAIN Network as head Laboratory Coordinator. She holds a Masters in Medical Virology from Jomo Kenyatta University and an MA in Project Planning and Management from the University of Nairobi. In CHAIN, she supports logistics and harmonizes procedures across research sites. She developed CHAIN’s detailed Standard Operating Procedures for all laboratory processing, and sample storage. She implements and harmonizes of all laboratory activities across sites and oversees the logistics behind CHAIN’s bio-repository in Kilifi, Kenya. Prior to returning to KEMRI/Wellcome trust, she had worked as a Project Manager at the Martin LĂ»scher Emerging Infectious Laboratory at the International Centre for Insect Physiology and Ecology (ICIPE). Before this, she had worked at KEMRI/Wellcome trust in the EPI/DSS cluster and coordinated large scale lab-based epidemiological studies. Caroline has developed great skill in managing research projects carried out in challenging settings and this always with a warm smile and laugh.
