Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital, Malawi
Role: Clinical Site
Malawi has a population of 17.2 million and while an urban shift is underway, 84% of the population live in rural settings. In 2015, it was estimated that 51% of the population lives below the national poverty line. The Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH) is a national referral hospital located in Blantyre. QUECH primarily serves an urban population with a catchment area of approximately 6 million people and manages around 12 500 pediatric admissions per year.
