We are excited to announce that a Wellcome Trust Society and Ethics collaborative grant led by Maureen Kelley (Ethox Centre, U.K.), with Sassy Molyneux from CHAIN as a co-applicant and Jay Berkley as an advisory committee member, was funded. The project is entitled: “In Their Own Voices: Vulnerabilities & Agency of Women, Children, & Families in Health Research”.
This project will contribute to the work that our Social Science working group hopes to accomplish through The CHAIN Network. Several collaborative sites will be working together such as the Ethox Centre, Africa Centre (South Africa), University of Kwa Zulu Natal (South Africa) and OUCRU (Thailand). In Kenya, there are two Kilifi based case studies in which the project will be nested: CHAIN (closely linking to social science sub-study work) and an HIV in adolescents study led by Dr. Amina Abubakar.
